Chocolate Birthday Whimsy

Todays cards feature one of the Sale-a-brations sets which are still available with a $50 purchase until March 17th. This set is called "Birthday Whimsy". I LOVE it!!! The set comes with images of a cake, a balloon, a present and 2 birthday sentiment stamps. It is such an easy set to use to whip up super easy and quick cards. My favorite kind of brithday cake is CHOCOLATE so I decided that I would use this set in conjunction with some retired Au Chocolate DSP that I had on hand. I am very pleased with how they turned out. Here are some closer views of each card:

I know it is hard to tell in this picture, but the cake was actually stamped 3 times. First I stamped the image on the main very vanilla panel. Then I stamped the cake image again on a scrap piece of vanilla. I cut out the entire cake portion and popped it up on dimensionals. Next I stamped the image yet again on a scrap piece of very vanilla and cut out only the frosting & added it to the panel with dimensionals. I used 2-way glue on the frosting and added dazzling diamonds to give it an extra special look. The chocolate scallop border was done using my corner rounder punch with the guard taken off.

The 2nd card also has a 3-d look to it. It too has 3 layers- same as the card above. The only basic difference to the cake panel is that I just added more of the 2-way glue & dazzling diamonds to the body of the cake.
Happy Stamping~
