Today's cards feature the technique called "Faux Leather". This was such a fun and easy technique to do. I was so surprised at how easy it was. Looking at the cards, one would think that this technique was difficult and time consuming, but it wasn't. I am working on a step by step tutorial for this and hope to have it posted here for you tomorrow.

When I started playing with my Bronc Buster set I thought how wonderful it would be to have some sort of leather as a background. I didn't have any leather DSP or anything that even remotely resemblered leather so I started to search for an alternative. I stumbled across the Faux Leather technique. This is a technique using masking tape to create your background. I experimented with various shades of ink to get differnt looks. I am really happy with how these cards turned out. I,myself like the blue one, but hubby and the boys prefer the red. Which one do you prefer???

The DSP on these cards is the Western Sky DSP from Stampin' Up! I used this paper on the previous Bronc Buster cards I made. It just matches the theme of this set so well and the colors are just perfect for masculine cards.
Happy Stamping~

Hi Kimberly! I don't have the sets that you have been working with here recently, but I love what you have done! I am looking forward to that tutorial on Faux leather. I like both the blue and the red, but my favorite is the blue one also. To me it's a "softer" effect.. and I love when leather gets that broken in softness to it... JMHO. I wish you much success, Hopefully we will be able to do another regional seminar again. Happiness, Lourin
